Get creative at Aston Hall

Awaken your creativity at Aston Hall on Wednesday and Thursday May 30 and 31, on a Family Drawing Tour. Tap into your inner artist and take part in an interactive drawing exploration of the hall.

Get involved with drawing challenges and enrich your knowledge by finding out the secrets that lie behind the portraits adorning the walls.

This event is an active way to explore Aston Hall from an angle not seen before, and is suitable for children aged six to 12 and accompanying adults. After the drawing tour there is plenty of time to enjoy Aston Hall and its grounds.

Become a scientist with Operation Earth at Thinktank

Thinktank has half term covered, with the Operation Earth show running throughout the holiday, inspiring little minds to become environmental specialists.

And the fun doesn’t stop there at Birmingham’s Science Museum, inspiring young minds daily across four floors and with an outdoor science garden with interactive, hands-on experiments at every twist and turn.

Visit Thinktank for a special Dr Who event on Monday 28th May in the first multi-Doctor, multi-verse, fulldome Planetarium show. Not one, but ten Doctors battle it out with their darkest enemy ever. Starting at 7pm, this is a perfect evening for Dr Who fans.

Let little ones’ imaginations run wild with the opportunity to build their own dens at Sarehole Mill this half term. On June 1, for just £2 per child, this exciting activity gets kids outdoors and experiencing nature.

At Soho House put a spring in your step with the Big Bounce on June 1. A free event for all the family, with a bouncy castle and fun garden games.

Use nature to get creative this half term at Weoley Castle: make a green man, a face made from leaves. On June 1, little ones can get arty with the natural world.

Dippy at BMAG

To celebrate Dippy arriving at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery (26th May – 9th September), this half term you can join in with dinosaur-inspired activities.

Activities include handling real fossils, making dinosaur masks and badges, and dinosaur fabric painting.

There will also be a special Little Dinos Messy Play for under threes and the Captain Cretaceous family show. If that wasn’t enough on selected days you can experience what it is like to be a real palaeontologist with the Dino Dig excavation sessions.
