Wordsley’s Red House Glass Cone new exhibition features landscapes, textile columns and mandalas - all themed to the colour blue.

It is the first exhibition by Tangent Textiles at the Dudley Council-run site.

The exhibition previously features at the Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch show at the NEC in Birmingham in March.

The group works in a range of techniques including hand and machine embroidery, felt making, quilting, fabric painting and printing, mixed media and more.

Pieces include Rhapsody in Blue by Pauline Barnes, featuring delicate 3-D blue flowers which project and flow from the canvas and Under the Sea by Hazel Wagstaff complete with coral fronds, quilted stones, silky fishes and marbled ocean.

Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “The cone excels at showcasing the artistic talents of groups from across the borough, the midlands and beyond.

“This exhibition features some really beautiful pieces and shows the remarkable skill of all the members who have transformed simple fabric into works of art.”

Artists include Carolyn Bradburn, Jacqui Cotterill, Margaret Fairhead, Mary Christodoulou, Pauline Barnes, Una Smith, Hazel Wagstaff and Kathryn Morris.

The exhibition runs until 13 August.
