Blessing Chitapa, 17, booked a spot in the next round of the hit ITV show with a rendition of Flying Without Wings by Westlife.

She faced off against fellow competitor Beryl McCormack.

Blessing grew up around music as her parents are pastors at the Cornerstone Fellowship International Church, in West Bromwich.

She is currently a sixth-form student studying biology, chemistry and psychology and has an ambition to become a doctor.

But her other dream is to go all the way in the singing contest.

Blessing has won fanfare from judge Olly Murs who criticised fellow judges in the blind auditions for not picking her.
