Light House to benefit from memorabilia event
A musical memorabilia exhibition held at Wolverhampton's Light House cinema will benefit the struggling venue.
The city centre media centre, based in The Chubb Buildings on Fryer Street, will see items belonging to some of the biggest names in British rock music on display.
Organised by Chris Bloor, Codsall-born drummer with up-and-coming Birmingham band Blue Nation - who previously appeared in The Star's unsigned column, the exhibition named Where Were You? aims to help the venue remain open through raising funds.

Speaking about the event, Mr Bloor said: "I'm organising the music memorabilia exhibition called Where Were You? that will be held at Light House this October.
"I have some fantastic items including guitars, drums, awards, artwork, handwritten lyrics and other memorabilia from Oasis, The Verve, Ocean Colour Scene, Coldplay, Paul Weller, Johnny Marr and Sir Paul McCartney for display. I want as many people to know about it as possible for it to be successful.
"The Light House will benefit massively from it, and in partnership with Ocean Colour Scene photographer Tony Briggs we are also planning on selling the OCS biography Soul Driver [written by Ian Snowball] at the event – with all profits from that being donated to Shelter."
On top of that, there is also the chance to win a Union jack-emblazoned, custom Epiphone Sheraton guitar, which is a replica of one used by Noel Gallagher. To be in with a chance of winning it, like and share the event's Instagram page @wherewereyou94 and Facebook page @wherewereyou
The exhibition, running from October 4 to 29, will use the building's Victorian architecture to provide a stunning backdrop for the items of musical heritage.
A statement on the venue's website said: "Light House is excited to be hosting a fantastic exhibition showcasing music memorabilia, art and photography in the exhibition Where Were You? this October."
Tickets to see the exhibition cost £8.50 each and are available to purchase from the Light House website.
