Walsall band The Assist release latest single
Walsall rockers The Assist are making the most of recent global attention after performing at one of Russia's top music festivals by releasing their latest single.
Just a Dream Away is a reflection on ambition, and can be heard on their Spotify page right now. It is a mature slice of mid-paced majesty, and they launched it last Saturday with a sold-out show at Birmingham's The Sunflower Lounge.
“For the first time in my life, I know the score. Forget all those highlights if you want more,” sings frontman Mikey Stanton, on the uplifting anthem aimed at silencing the doubters - including in oneself.

It continues a busy and successful period for the band, who formed in 2014. They have previously sharing the stage with the Happy Mondays and Blossoms, Black Honey and Birmingham's The Twang last Christmas.
Most recently, the four-piece completed a six-date tour across Russia as part of a cultural programme with the British Embassy. The ‘Urals tour’ included headlining the Boris Yeltsin Open Air event at the Ural Night Music Festival performing in front of more than 12,000 people.
Their 2018 EP, LOST, charted in both Spotify’s ‘top 50 most streamed tracks in the UK’ and iTunes’ ‘Top 10 indie chart’ lists, and their tracks have been picked up to be used on the soundtrack of hit E4 show Made In Chelsea and on BBC Radio 6 where they have been praised by the likes of Tom Robinson and Steve Lamacq.
