Katie Fitzgerald's, in Stourbridge, hosts a regular music night called Songs of Anger and Redemption

The pub and live music hotspot started SoAaR on the last Friday of each month, but it has grown in such popularity that it has expanded to more regular timeslots.

For July, they have lined up three nights of live music featuring stars of the local underground music scene to entertain punters.

On July 4, Steve Ignorant's Slice Of Life will headline with support from The Headsticks Two, followed by The Newcranes and former Unsigned column star Paul Henshaw in support on July 12 and Alcohol Licks plus guests Balsall Heathens and Swaktang the next day on July 13.

Organiser Dave Hammonds said of the shows: "For nearly a year now we've been running events called Songs of Anger and Redemption which has featured artists from all over the country and beyond, including the likes of Gaz Brookfield, 3 Daft Monkeys, Nick Harper, The Undercover Hippy and Ferocious Dog.

"Only recently we had Rory McLeod on the cellar venue stage."

And a statement on the venue's website adds: "Artists from near and far will be gracing the stage of the cellar venue at Katie Fitzgerald's to perform songs to make you sit up and listen. We'll have solo performers, duos and groups. Some performing acoustic, some electric.

"As part of our charity policy we support a designated homeless charity plus the local food bank so buy a ticket, spend some money and bring some food."

There are currently no shows listed for August, with the series taking up its mantle again for September.

Tickets for the Steve Ignorant show can be bought for £8 in advance here, or are £10 on the door. The Newcranes tickets are the same price and available here, while tickets for Alcohol Licks are available for £5 from here.
