Angel Heart Theatre will present their new show at Glasshouse Arts Centre in Amblecote, Stourbridge.

The performance, which has been selected by students at the Glasshouse College as part of Black Country Touring’s Young Promoter Scheme, will take place at 5pm on April 20.

Since 2000, the Young Promoter Scheme has helped young people aged six to 18 to get involved in every aspect of event promotion by promoting a professional performance in their own space.

Setting the scene for the show, Angel Heart Theatre, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, says: “Far, far away there lies a curiously mechanical kingdom in which everything ticks but nothing laughs.

It is ruled by The Queen Who Never Smiles and she is determined to control everyone and everything, even Time itself.

“Snow White knows what it is like to live in such an unhappy land, and our tale begins when she must flee for her life to escape the Queen’s terrible jealousy.

“Seeking refuge in the mysterious Wild Wood, Snow White discovers she is not the only one who refuses to live in a world without laughter. Under the trees, little steps are taken to bring about big changes.”

Oliver Cheney, principal of Glasshouse College, said: “We are very excited to be a part of the Young Promoters Scheme.

“It is a great example of how young people with diverse talents can make a difference to their community by helping to bring fantastic live theatre to Stourbridge.

“Glasshouse College students have been involved in choosing shows for the Glasshouse Arts Centre.

“They have been engaging in promotional activity and will be helping out behind the scenes and front of house for Snow White.

“This would not have been possible without the fantastic support of Black Country Touring.”

Tickets cost £6 and admission is free for under-fives. To book email theatre@ghc.rmt.org or call 01384 399433
