Former racer Steve Parrish to host charity show
Former motorcycle racer Steve Parrish is bringing his tour to the Midlands aid of charity.
He will be at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre on January 31 to help raise money for the Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire Blood Bikes charity.
Steve had a long career in motorcycling, becoming 500cc British Champion and winning many titles along the way, as team mate of the legendary Barry Sheene.
After retiring from motorcycle racing he embarked on a successful truck racing career and was three time winner of the British Open Truck Championship adnd four time winner of the European title.
He currently he commentates for British Eurosport on World Superbike and also ITV4 for TT & Classic TT.
His My Adolescent Dad show is a funny and informative look back on Steve’s racing career, hosted by his daughter Frankie.
Steve has also donated a number of memorabilia items signed by a variety of GPand TT stars, which will be auctioned on the evening.
Shropshire,Staffordshire and Cheshire Blood Bikes provide a free urgent delivery service to the NHS, 24 hours a day, carried out by volunteers.
There are around 100 riders, who take it in turns to be on call for 12-hour shifts with eight on duty every day.
Between them they cover an area of around 3,500 square miles.
As well as being a money-saving option, they are also provide a faster service to ensure deliveries make it to hospitals in good time.
Steve Hawkes from the charity said: “It is fantastic of Steve to bring his show to Stafford in aid of our charity, it should be a brilliant evening and hopefully raise plenty of money towards our service.”
