The marathon runner was awarded the Freedom of The Hawthorns earlier this year in recognition of his fundraising efforts for club charity The Albion Foundation.

‘Big Dave’, who is now an Albion coach, will re-enact the presentation at half-time during the game with Bournemouth so independent film-makers can capture the moment for a documentary about Blind Dave’s seven marathons in seven days on seven continents.

The film is being made by Pixel Revolution Films and producer Nigel Davey said: “Dave’s story is remarkable and inspirational and we can think of no better place to finish it than with the man himself at the place he loves best.

“The film we be a dramatisation of his story with an actor playing Dave but we think for the final shot, we need the man himself at The Hawthorns.”

Blind Dave was given his key at the 25th anniversary of the Foundation in March by long-serving Albion player Chris Brunt.

Supporters will also be treated to a few aesthetic touches this Saturday when they return to The Hawthorns for the first game of the season. To find out more about the Blind Dave Heeley film, visit https://www.pixelrevolutionfilms.com/7days
