Walsall's Jorja going global with tour

Walsall's Jorja Smith is going global this month when she heads out on a tour across North America.

The 20-year-old singer songwriter, who has worked with the likes of Canadian rap superstar Drake, will travel to the region from August 22.

She will perform in the likes of Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angelas

After starring on the charity single for victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, Smith is expected to sing songs from her catalogue including Blue Lights, Beautiful Little Fools and latest track Teenage Fantasy.

The former Starbucks worker announced the tour via her Twitter account and tickets went on sale at the end of July.

It comes after she announced two festival dates earlier this year at the Budweiser Made In America in Philadelphia and Bumbershoot in Seattle in September.

Appearing alongside her will be the likes of Stormzy, Lorde, Weezer and Jay Z.

She is also appearing at Outlook Festival later that month.

Her songs have been played more than 25,000,000 times on online streaming service Spotify.

She featured on Drake's track Get It Together.

Last month, the singer performed to a sold-out crowd at the Brixton Academy in London.

In February, rapper Drake was spotted with her at theCo-operative supermarket in Broadway, Walsall, fresh from two sell-out performances by the latter at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham.
